BIOGRAPHY
I was awarded a diploma at the Institute of Agrarian Technology of the city of Florence and then received a summa cum laude doctoral degree from the Agrarian Sciences faculty of the University of Florence. My first professional training was at the Marchesi de’Frescobaldi firm, where I acquired a significant knowledge of the analytic and qualitative control of wine; I then enlarged my scientific knowledge and vision of the world of wine working for a period at the Seghesio Winery in Sonoma valley. In 1998 I joined the Matura Group as a working oenologist, collaborating closely with Attilio Pagli and Alberto Antonini and following the winemaking work both at various cellars in Italy and in a project in Rumania. Since 2001 I have been an independent consultant in the oenological sector. I am a member of the tasting commissions of appellation (DOC and DOCG) wines and lecturer for the AIS and FISAR sommelier courses. I have contributed to the diffusion of wine culture through numerous seminars in the major cities of Japan.I participated as a judge in the Japanese Wine Challenge in 2007. I am enrolled as a member of the professional order of Agricultural Experts and Agricultural Experts with a Doctorate of the province of Florence (membership number 928) and am a member of Assoenologi (the association of Italian professional oenologists) with membership number 4066.
